The table object
A table is one table on the restaurant’s floor plan, with the seating area it
sits in. Tables arrive as the tables array on a
reservation and on a hold, and
they have no endpoints of their own.
Fields
Section titled “Fields”objectstring
Possible values: table
The object type: always table.
idstring
The table’s id, tbl_…. Opaque and stable.
namestring
The table’s name on the restaurant’s floor plan.
min_capacityinteger
The smallest party the table is meant for. Always a number, never null.
max_capacityinteger
The largest party the table seats on its own — a larger party needs tables joined together. Always a number, never null, and never below min_capacity.
sectionSection
The seating area the table is in.
An empty array is normal
Section titled “An empty array is normal”tables is [] while no table is assigned. A modify detaches the booking’s
table and picks one again for the new slot, so the array can change on a booking
whose time did not — and if no table fits, the whole modify rolls back and the
booking is exactly as it was.
You cannot choose the table. table_ids is not a field this API accepts on a
create or a modify; ask for a seating area with section_id instead, and the
table search does the rest.
